Not this one.  I've seen the location of it myself before it went to the garage and I'll try most things but I was happy to pay the labour in this instance.
Can't get at it from above, steering rack and driveshaft in the way underneath.  One of the top bolts can't be seen without a mirror, bolts fit from opposite directions and the odd-one-out has to be accessed from up-top.
Not the owner, just the bloke who looks after it.

ALL the owner does is drive it and put fuel in. Rolleyes

The ones on the 1.9d and 2.0hdi are very easy to do but never done on on the 1.6hdi.

Was going to say mines 2l hdi took my macanic half hour.he was that quick I just waited for it..didn't think 1.6 hdi was that hard??but must be..

That 1.6 designed by an idiot- An oil fiter hidden uner turbo pipes, a sump that doesn't drain fully, fragile turbo set up and so on,

You maybe right! Have you tried to change front or rear discs (I don't mean pads) on a Transit?

MK7 RWD Transit discs fit BEHIND hubs, so rears you have to pull the half shafts then take ABS reluvter ring off hub before removing disc. Fronts are just as bad and you end up fitting new wheel bearings too! Madnes!

Some cars, if the ABS wheel sensor fails, you have to change it complete with hub & bearings as a unit . S instead of a £15 sensor, it costs you £85 or more
