Yes, I've been back, and they couldn't find anything. Same garage has serviced it for 4 years without any trouble before. It could be that they've knocked or mis-fitted something without knowing it. As mentioned, the noise seems worse at certain revs (1000/2000), so I was inclined to think it wasn't exhaust-related, but I don't know much about these things...
It's now booked in with a diesel specialist for Wednesday next week, so we'll see what they say...
May be daft question did the put the right oil in?? You say engine seems louder..could be wrong oil.
