Rear Suspention Fix Re MAD Springs
#1
Just fitted today some new rear coill springs to the 2009 XTR 90BHP.
From Ekollon  (  01386 882997), MAD spring for towing , not a assister but a different coil.
Rear now 8mm higher but when loaded I have now just under 4 finger widths above  the tyre to arch were before with same load it was 2.
Empty it feels slightly firmer but has lost that pitching for and aft on compression's and big bumps, feels more controlled through bends etc.
Will test a full load on Thursday, but very surprised how Mrs said it was more comfortable.
Some pictures of the difference.  Car has a pretty heavy tool box and spares in the back and is sitting almost like empty.

Cheers

That's interesting as mine is also well loaded up at times with the mobile welding gear.
Did you change the dampers? I think stiffer ones would help as mine wallows around when loaded.

No not yet, today job cancelled but tomorrow a good test re dampers , I thought they were under damping , mine only done 46000 and seem ok when tried them with the springs out.
trouble is stiffer dampers I think will be too much unloaded.
Just the springs seem so much better, stiffer spring on same damper should feel under-damped but it does not.
Will report back after more testing.

That's good to know. How did your insurance company deal with the "modification" and how much did your premium go up?

Cheers!
