After some 16 years of owning German cars, i have now.....
#1
Taken a new "Life Style" chapter in my motoring life and on Saturday i acquired this beauty :

Already very excited to familiarizing myself with the vehicle and the semi automatic gear box Blush
Have permanently taken out one N/S rear seat as i regularly carry bikes and the bike fits a charm !!
Hoping to support this forum with story's, photo's and some "Lingo Pimping" every now and then.

Just one small question, been going through the thick owners manual and reading up on running out of diesel (A bad habit of mine) and using the diesel priming pump as in the manual, but for the life of me i can't find it in the engine bay Angry  or has my 2014 got a automatic priming ??

No, not run out of diesel yet in the Berlingo, but just preparing myself for the time.
Just got myself in a bad habit of trying to beat my MPG and my last Audi A4 i knew if i had zero miles left on the vehicle computer i knew i could do a extra 20 miles, but at times i did get caught out.

I will mend my ways with my new purchase .....

soon as it hits 1/4 of a tank. Fill up. thats the rule of thumb ive taught my family. that last 1/4 is your reserve.
if you run out of fuel on the motorway its an offence. not sure about A roads.

Yours is a lot newer and nicer than my old 2001 model,  it has a manual priming pump but I don't think yours has ,

(  Psst anyone can run out of fuel   or fill a diesel with petrol so I've heard   Angel    ! . You are not alone ! )

I only ran out of fuel once many, many years ago. A pitch black wet winters night on a narrow B road miles from anywhere and no mobile phones back then.

I was also quite low the day the petrol tankers went on strike and there was a mad panic and petrol stations all ran out. I needed to drive every day to visit my wife in hospital at the time and I had a hell of a job to find fuel.

i will never run out again.

Hi Doodlebug and welcome. Your diesel priming pump can be easily seen in the photo of your engine (same as mine incidentally); it's the top hat shaped black plastic item on top of your fuel filter, between two fuel pipes at the 1 o'clock postion to your engine oil filler cap.

If you ever change your fuel filter, when you pump the diesel fuel primer, fuel will come out of the fuel connector pipe stub which has the bright green release tabs in your photo. So you will need a plastic pipe on the stub, and receptacle to catch it.
