Ace Remaps
#1
Smile
Just had my 2.0Hdi remapped by ace Remaps of Shrewsbury. Not the cheapest, but what a transformation! I'm not interested in top speed, but the wave of torque is superb. The engine is far smoother, quieter and seems to be more economical, and it flies! The most unlikely looking vehicle to go like it does. I can now overtake safely and with confidence. Terrific!
I had the cam belt etc replaced to sure nothing untoward, they do three types of remap, economy, towing and power. Just under £400. Highly recommended. Smile

Did you get any dyno printout showing the increases in power / torque ?
I'd be interested in seeing it if you did .

Cheers, I've been trying to get information / experiences about having this done from the customers point of view, eg was it worth it , any fuel economy improvements, any speed / pulling improvements and of course if there was any down sides ?
Any info is most welcome.

I haven't found any downsides, the acceleration in gear is much better, smoothly revs well past 4000, fuel consumption is lower, about 7 more mpg, but I have had a new cam belt fitted. The engine is smoother and feels subjectively more powerful and very lively. Wheel spin in first on a dry road is too easy. Overtaking is a breeze, so far so good.

I had the stage 1 map from tdi-tuning on my 2.0 HDi. It positively flies. I did some sat-nav timing app based tests from 0-60, 30-50 and 50-70.

0-60 - a clutch stinking 9.1 seconds (!!) 30-50 in 3rd 4.9 seconds and 50-70 was around 8 sec. No real difference in economy in normal driving.

Wound it up to a sat-nav indicated 112mph too, up from the 103mph I'd dragged out of it standard!
