Hi, I have just purchased a 2006 Berlingo 1.6HDi 75 XTR and have a few questions please.
Is the 75 bhp an 8 valve engine or are all of these HDi's 16 valve?
Will it have a DPF?
Can I remove the bottom Turbo oil pipe banjo to ditch the gauze filter without removing the cat?
Many thanks Gareth

They (1.6hdi) are all 16v twin-cam.
It will have a cat style particulate filter not a all singing oil filled money pit DPF filter (probably).
No, you will have to disconnect the exhaust at the turbo, un-bolt the cat/DPF from the block, (2 bolts) and move it forwards to access the turbo oil feed pipe where it meets the block.
Keep an eye on the injectors for combustion gas leaks, black oil type deposits on the top of the engine and the smell of exhaust fumes inside the cab, this is thought to be responsible for the oil contamination that these engines are notorious for.
