Using my trolly jack
#1
Hi everyone, as a newby I need to ask my quota of daft questions.  Now that I have been a 56 Multispace 1.6 petrol owner for all of five or so weeks Im preparing to start home servicing.

I've read that to lift the front with my trolly jack I should (with timber protection) place the jack under the centre of the front sub frame and for the rear, centre of the tubular axle carrier. Is this correct ?

I have axle stands for safety and support at the scissor jack points.

Thanks......

Hi you can place it under the sub frame but i would not do it in the center i would do it nearside or offside under the sub frame mounting bolts. You can also jack under the sills on the strengthened parts / scissor jack points - you will see clearly where.

At the rear i would not go in the centre but nearside and offside for stability.

Thanks for that, I was seeking the reassurance that the sub frame was man enough. I get your point about stability too. Thanks again.
