[Steering & Suspension] Steering pump leaking
#1
Sad
Replaced  my auxiliary belt 2 weeks ago after it shredded itself. I noticed a small amount of oil under the van today and discovered that the steering pump seems to be leaking. Is it because the new belt has put more pressure on the pump or is it just one of those things. Can the pump be repaired or do I need a new one ,thanks

I wouldn't bother trying to repair it, just replace it.
I would be more worried as to whether any of the shredded belt got into the cambelt cover as it's a jumped tooth waiting to happen if it has.

I suspect that it's not a repairable unit.If the pulley is removable, see if you can get  a new seal.

Thanks. I did check the cam belt by taking off the cover and couldn't see any fragments of belt or damage.

Thanks Ron. I'll see when I take it off and have a fiddle before getting a new one
