Adjusting drivers seat height
#1
Hi all, new to the forum, looking for some advice please. We've just bought a 2013 XTR, absolutely love it . My wife finds the driving seat position a little uncomfortable, she finds that the seat base angle is making her driving position uncomfortable. We have tried different set ups, without success so far. Is there any way to tilt the base forwards ? Has anyone else had this issue ? Any ideas in how to fix this would be great, thank you.

I had a similar need and solved it by buying a wedge shaped cushion that fits the seat squab. Got it from Aldi I think, but a back specialist shop should do one...

I've done 180k with a normal cushion on the seat,it soon moulds to how you need it

Not sure if it's mounted the same as the m49,but I fitted 2 x 1" steel blocks under the rear mounts and replaced the 2 bolts for longer high tensile ones.
Aldi over here in Australia has a set of 2 memory foam chair cushions on sale this week for $29. So I replaced the ones I bought 4 years ago for fresh ones.very comfortable. Our clark rubber stores sell similar product for nearly $100 each cushion!

Not exactly related to seat height, but does anyone actually find the armrest of any use?

I'm of fairly average build but the armrest seems to be in the totally wrong position and is completely useless.

I also fitted spacer blocks on my Mk2 van which worked well for many miles / couple of years ( eventually sourced new seats ).

Arm rests - When I changed my van for the car version I was really pleased to have arm rests but then having tried them I found them more pain than the worth of it, my wife as passenger didn't like them also - arm rests removed sharpish.

Thanks for the suggestions, I had thought about fitting spacers, although the I wanted to see if anyone else had successfully tried it first. I'm assuming you guys have fitted your spacers under the frame base rather than directly under the seat runners ?

Yes that's correct to place the spacers under the frame

My last Berlingo had armrests---never used them.
