Ive not changed one on the newer model but all the cars ive replaced brake light switches they are mounted above the brake pedal. Have you looked up there.
Are we there yet?????
Ex 1.6hdi van now 3 seater 1.4 multispace

Have you changed a bulb recently?
Mine were stuck on when the wrong brake bulb was used and it caused a short so they were permanently on.

It will have four pins in the brake light switch, one side for abs/ESP and one for lights from memory, if brake lights are stuck on it may be worth getting a set of wiring diagrams for 6 quid off service box and seeing where wiring goes... But first do the lights go out if you unplug the brake light switch? Check the bulbs, but normally if a wrong bulbs been fitted the dash will light up when brakes are pressed and the high level brake light will light when the side lights are put on...
