Strangely, I have 3 towing/recovery eyes in the compartment with the jack. Often wondered if there was a hole in the roof for the third one!

Im sure you normally only get one with a vehicle?

I found two in the tool kit of my van! I can't see you needing any more than one at any time lol!

Reading an article here on bike tying down, one of the peeps uses suction hooks to provide bungee purchase points. Have a look here https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/s/ref=is_...ix=suction , some seem pretty heavy duty. Where have they been all my life!

A couple of words of caution.
#1 Make sure you don't obscure your lights (You might not be able to see the L/H light cluster fromthe off side and visa versa)
#2 Beware of exhaust fumes being sucked into cabin though partially open tailgate

Well finally got motivated (Want the house on the market by end of next week so not much choice motivated) to get the other bit shifted.
Tried loads of angles and directions but ended up just sticking it in upright as it allowed the boot to close the best. Having it on end got the hatch to within 5 inches of catching bit it was pressing hard on the glass.

To secure the hatch I used my finger to close the catch so I could put the hook of the ratchet in, then looping the strap through the pin and across to one of the tie downs and it worked a treat.
