[Steering & Suspension] STEERING PROBLEM
#1
hello got a bit off a strange problem with my steering on my 2003 berlingo forte
when I turn left or right my steering wheel jerks to straighten up it also has the same effect
when I'm sitting still and turn the wheel left or right it is not on full lock when this happens
but probably about 75% off wheel turn hope I've explained this problem so anyone can
understand it thanks in advance for any help Sad

from what you have said i would start by checking the fluid level - if low check for leaks

steering knuckle on bottom of column, just behind the engine where it pokes through the bulk head, reach down from drivers wing and give it a good spray with WD,do it again next day then give it a go with an oil can, cheap fix to try 1st,I'll owe you a pint if it isn't :-) exactly the problem with mine, but i spent money on the other stuff 1st so had my hands burnt...just check,it gets all the crap and the heat from the engine and starts seizing, sometimes feels ok when it's raining if you've noticed.

I would say top strut bearings too. Jack it up and give it a spray with wd40. If it's any better it will confirm it's them and they want changing

Mine is doing the same as this. I think it had been sitting for a while, it seems to be getting better with use. I shall be trying plus gas in this joint to see what happens.
