How many Vacuum solenoids?
#1
Hi Folks,

I'm also not sure about how many vacuum solenoids there are. in my 2001/2, 2.0 hdi dw10

Theres one on the battery for the egr then i seem to have another one that fits on a blue connector at the drivers side end of the
loom.

is one for the butterfly valve in the inlet manifold and one for the egr? Or do i have an extra one?

I've read the haynes a lot but its a bit hit and miss with info and there are no decent pictures/diagrams of how everything is connected.

I should have probably written it down when i took it apart! Smile

either way the egr has been blanked and the butterfly valve is not in use. so the real question is what do you connect/disconnect to make the ecu think everything is ok?

Thanks!

Short answer is "connect everything" ECU will throw up faults if anything not connected (unless it's been deleted in the ECU)

Do you have the engine light on?

On some 2.0hdi's you can disconnect the vacuum pipe from the egr without any problems but if yours has a butterfly valve in the inlet i doubt you can disconnect that without it being mapped out of the ecu like Col says.
