Hi Folks,
I have a 2012 Multispace, every now and again the rear window washer will fire up and then the wiper for 3 or 4 wipes. Entirely unrelated to the front wipers and so far always in a forward gear....
Seen a few threads on odd wiper behavior but no resolution, (other than presence of a poltergeist....)
any thoughts?
Thanks !

Could be broken wires in the tailgate umbilical, worth pulling it back & having a look.

Do a BSI re-set. Basically take the battery off, wait and re-connect. Not quite that simple as there is a specific procedure to be followed.
Try this guide:

Follow it carefully

BSI = Body Systems Interface. It's the box of electronics (a full blown computer in fact) which controls everything non-engine related as well as the 7 communication buses between different systems, the BSI is the network bridge and main controller of all of that, in addition it contains most of the relays, the central locking, window control, lighting control, signalling control, the Immobiliser, fault code monitoring, 50 percent of the fuses, the lot.
It is non replaceable - unless a replacement is coded exactly from the original unit's firmware and the part numbers match, which even then can only be done by a few specialist electronics workshops.
The reset procedure doesn't change for 2023. I put the details in the how-to section: BSI RESET

If the EPROM in your original can be dug out and bench-read by an electronics shop who specialise in BSI recovery, and then that software is put into a pre-virginised (reset to as new) identical BSI with the same part numbers and capability level (L,M or H) then short of a few hundred quid, you're back in the game.
Otherwise, you have a 4-wheeled garden ornament. A replacement from a scrappy or eBay can not be used (will never work) without the treatment above. Your BSI contains your immobiliser, your unique security PIN code and master VIN copy. No other will work without that process.
