04 berlingo desire number plate lights

Hi guys... so my actual light housings are broken and I recived my led replacement housings and connect them up and all working fine... the issue I am having is that I went to pop them into the van and the one side went in and now they are jammed I can't seem to get them to go in square! Is there a nack to getting them in and out?
