A proper regas cleans and lubricates the system. If you switch your aircon on and the clutch on the pump kicks in there is enough in the system otherwise the clutch will not kick in and the aircon is doing nothing. If you buy a car with aircon check it before you take it away or ask them to fill it as part of the deal then it should last at least a couple of years. Our M59 needed filling after we had it 3 years, it costs between £40 and £50 round here at reputable garages. You need to use it to keep it working, never mind about people who say they don't put it on because it costs you in fuel economy, driving with the window open does that as well.
So where does this bit go then ?

So I got new Re-gas and now works a treat, yesterday I had to turn it off as it was that too cold, they say you should have a re-gass ever two years. When I put my own thermometer it read 2 degrees.
PS: I not a big Halfords fan but I give the staff 10 out of 10 for this job.
Your lucky there mate ive have work done myself by Halfords and they are shocking, disgraceful workmanship and customer service. Dont even bother trying to complain its just a waste of time. Halfords will never go near a vehicle of mine again not even for an MOT.
The Halfords staff that I dealt with were two men in their late 50s and I could not fault their workman ship or attitude on the day but yes I would not take my car for any other work as I use a very good local garage but he has not got the Air-com equipment.
