Mirrorlink Update May Be On The Way!

I've got my 2016 b9going into citreon for a update on tuesday...my phone is a samsung a8..hoping to get it working..after 2 days of ownership the infotainment system shut down a few times...but after booking it into citreon for a update it's not happened since...but we will see what happens...was hoping to get my samsung linked up ..but I doubt it..

My Mirrorlink stopped working recently after a very minor software update on my Samsung A3 phone. As far as I know that's it, nothing that Citroen can or Samsung will do.

I've been looking at double DIN Android head unit options but will probably end up making do with a phone cradle if I need a GPS

Yes tuesday booked in for update...well the system shut down a few times after purchasing the van...so I contacted the garage where I bought it telling them I'd seen it on the birlingo forum where the update cures infotainment shutdown...so they agreed to pay for the update and booked me in.has not shut down since...but I'm still going for the update tuesday..nothing to lose.

So tuesday I arrived at wr Davies in stafford for the upgrade on the infotainment system...after an hour or so I was told...there was no charge has they were unable to complete update due to some computer error...I left with another booking date and was told that maybe they could update my system from mirrorlink to android auto...see soon..

Weird thing was my phone was able to view photos on the screen has before I could not...

   

Well citroen changed there mind and said they could not update the birlingo to android auto....the price to update the infotainment system came to £39....I think I'm going to forget this mirrorlink system and try the apple CarPlay instead....just need a apple phone.

I've been following this thread for a while so just wanted to add my own experience. I have a 2015 Berlingo van with the touchscreen and have never been able to get MirrorLink to work with previous Android phones. I got a Samsung A50 a year ago and installed some MirrorLink apps on my phone and connected with the USB but still nothing. I contacted Citroen through their website and filled in their online form asking about updating the system to Android Auto and got a call back from a woman in Casablanca (!?) who basically said "no you can't" but could not give any explanation.

My van was due for a service/MOT in December and I have also had the issue of the touchscreen turning off/rebooting and the random annoying beeping noise (both mentioned in other threads) so I asked to speak to the tech guy who does all that stuff at my local dealership. He said an update was available that should fix the rebooting/beeping so I paid the £51 for that (and it has...so far) but he also said they used to do touchscreen upgrades to Android Auto (and made regular good money from it) but that Citroen had stopped offering the upgrade "a while ago", he had no idea why they stopped.

Has anyone ever had the touchscreen upgraded to Android Auto or ever heard of anyone having this done? Seems quite odd that if they were capable of doing this that they would choose to stop
