Fuel Flap Lock Mechanism
#1
NewGuy needs some advice please........
My daughter attempted to open the sliding door while I was re-fueling....... it got jammed.
I was able to push the door shut but can not now open it.
I realise that the safety mechanism has probably jammed but can't figure out how to get at it, any ideas?
Thanks for you time

Similar problems with the flap and door locking mechanism have been posted before. I don't recall the solutions but a forum search should reveal some useful info.

Try taking the fuel cap off and push the button in with a screwdriver to get a bit more oomph while someone opens the door just enough to disengage the mechanism. It's probably stretched or bent part of the linkage and you'll have to start stripping trim out to get at it there doesn't look any easy answer.
So where does this bit go then ?

I have also seen it mentioned on here but cannot find any resolve for the problem. I looked through the manual from this site and there is no mention of that part.

I think you need to get the door open to look at the mechanism in the door jamb, but dont know how you do that.

I''ve stripped the inside trim, and gone from underneath by taking out the wheel arch cover......still can't get at it.
No way to open the door until the locking pin is closed, can't get at it to close it though, grrr!,

Had exactly the same on mine. There is a plastic plunger inside of the fuel flap to the left. It will have fallen down, inside of the wheel arch behind the trim. Pull off the inside of the trim enough to get your hand up behind it (hurts) You will find a cable (to the top left) pull it out from behind the trim and push the plunger to release the door lock.
I then removed the plastic cover around the door lock. Tapped the sprung mechanism flat so it couldn't lock the door again. The plastic retainers had broken on the plunger, so did not bother to replace the cable assembly.

Thanks for advice.
The plunger is still in place.
I think the locking pin is bent and won't retract.
Still stuck! Mr. Citroen beckons.

Had same problem and found video online about it. See if you open door as much as you can, the pull the bery bottom corner of door ( the handle side) it releases the lock. Easy fix for me. Worth a try for anyone else.
