Is the 850kg Bouncy when Empty?
#1
Hi,

Thinking of getting an 850kg version of the latest shape Berlingo, mostly because I want the 90BHP engine and there seem to be more of the 850kg versions for sale than other versions with 90 engines.

Question is ... are they more bouncy at the rear end when empty than 600kg versions, or do they have graduated springs so the stiffer parts only come into play when loaded?

It will be used as a car effectively, so the 'bounciness' of the back end when empty is important.

Is there anyone who's driven both the 600 and 850 versions empty who could comment please?

Thanks

:-)

I actually find mine gets more bouncy when I load it. Just tonight I had 8 sleepers in the back @18kg a piece dry (But these were damp) and it was rocking a bit on the unfinished road surface on the A1.
Generally it rides front heavy but you only really notice it if you slam a speed bump.

Thanks for your reply.

I'm thinking more of the 850kg versions being more jittery (skipping across the road) if it hits a bump on a corner.

Do you find this happens?

Does the suspension at the rear feel hard/stiff when empty?

Thanks
