Centre consol

Hi all just taken delivery of my 2012 Multispace VTR, one thing that's bugging me is at the front of the centre consol there are what looks like two shallow cup holders, and in the bottom of each one is a shinny bolt with a nut on it. My question is should there be a cup holder in these holes or something else which covers the bolts

the two holes you are asking about are supposed to be empty on the model you have.  See attached the intended purpose traction control (left) auto box selector (right)

They make a very useful mobile / tablet mounting point (search for details in the forum)

unfortunately my poor description has let me down, the consol or Tray is the one on the floor between the seats, and the holes are right at the front of this along side each other.

Here is a picture of mine, an XTR 2012 and yes I would think ashtray holders as well, mine is at the back.

Yep, just thin material carpet.
Both mine disapeared up the hoover nozzle the first time I cleaned the cabin.

Once retrieved, I put a dab of glue to hold them in place.

Those 2 rear cup holders are useless for anything other than pennies. First day I used my van for work I put my old and leaky travel cup in one as it was too big for the front and lost the whole cup of tea on the first roundabout.
Would have saved it if I could have reached the cup but by the time I pulled in safely it was gone.

They should just use the space to extend the center console back further and create more useful storage space and a larger McDonald's breakfast table.
