water in rear underfloor storage
#1
Hi, I am really stuck with this one. I accidentally got a lot of water into the passengers' side rear underfloor storage (forgot to close the window! doh!). I took out the liner and the soundproofing and dried it all out, along with all the bodywork under it. But, some of the water has gone through the hole and under the floor where the front passenger seat is. The soundproofing spongy material is wet under there and I have no idea how to get to it to dry it out. I have left the compartment open but it doesn't seem to be drying out. Any ideas would be appreciated because it is starting to smell.

hire a dehumidifier and leave it in there for a few hours or overnight if you can, failing that local £1 store buy a load moisture traps leave them in for a week or so.

On dry days leave the windows and rear hatch open to get good air flow through the vehicle ... air flow works when drying a room after plastering and there is plenty of water involved there ( and works better than having the heating on ).

Thanks for your replies. I have tried these ideas, and they are working. Thanks again!! Smile
