1.6 hdi injector washers
#1
Hello
Does anyone know where I can buy slightly thicker injector seals please as I have to recut the sealing face of one of my injector ports and are worried that I won't get  it to clamp down properly after I have removed metal.
Thanks
John

I think you will be okay with one washer but you could use two if you want.

I have been told that 2 washers will upset the spray pattern .There's a seller on ebay doing 2.4 mm thick washers but he's not in the UK.

you will upset the pattern if you use any washer thicker than the amount you have cut out of the seat so unless you know exactly how much you have cut out you will never get it spot on.

You could google for a local fuel injection specialist who may be able to help

If the washers are too thick, or doubled up, you get black smoke on idle and poor idling-almost like a partial missfire

Thanks for the suggestions I'll phone around some diesel specialists see if they have something

Just use a factory washer, the tiny amount your going to cut will make little to no difference and you'll still achieve the same clamping force, I've done hundreds, in reality how much metal do you think your going to remove? It will be fractions of a mm and not worth worrying about
