Hello there! Just brought a tidy old 97 berlingo multispace van with a 1.8 diesel engine. Great little van but comes with the problem of it randomly stalls out by what appears as a loss of fuel.
Today over a 30 minute journey it stalled 3 times once at some lights twice while driving along, all 3 times 2 pumps on the priming bulb and it fires straight back up!!
I've done some quick searching and nothing is cropping up (maybe I'm not looking right) but I need to use the van on dual carriageways frequent so want to fix this asap! I have fitted a new fuel filter which hasn't cured it, I have checked the lever arm on top of the fuel pump which appears common and this is dry, and had a general check of all hoses and pipes which appear okay and aren't leaking. Also must note it always starts on the button and isn't back feeding the fuel to the tank
Just wondering if anyone on here with more experience with these could point me in the right direction before I spend hours in the garage and driving around waiting for it to stall
