Gauges turning off randomly

Hoping someone can help with this. Every once in a while (twice last week and again today) my gauges just stop reading and all the warning lights come on (see photo). The van drives absolutely fine. The only other thing I found that doesn't work is the steering wheel volume controls.
When I stop and take the key out, the warning lights are still on. I can reset things by either disconnecting the battery for a few mins, or removing the shunt from the fusebox.

Does anyone have any ideas what this could be?

What year,engine,spec etc is the van.

I had that when I fitted a new radio, so pulled it out,then all was OK again,,so no radio now,!!

its a 2003 1.9 non turbo.
Funnily enough, I have taken the radio out and fitted a parrot

Parrot is affecting canbus wires and not wired to a correct ignition feed I'd guess

I had a 'gauges dropping' issue a while back - don't think warning lights came on - anyway in the end it was diagnosed to a faulty alternator that was for some reason putting out more volts than it should have. Something to check if it turns out not to be the radio.
