Cruise control
#41
You don't need to buy the stalk new, just look on ebay

Once fitted, which is a simple job, it takes 10 minutes to activate with a Lexia and Diagbox

Oh I know, it was just for info. I queried it when the dealership wanted to charge 2 hours labour. I didn't mind new parts or even reasonable labour.

Its presence was then updated by an auto electrician in Bolton who had Lexia 3. He charged me £60. Total cost less than £100 and it works perfectly. As others have noted the speed limiter does not work but I didn't want this anyway. I suspect the best clue is to look for a switch on the clutch pedal. The brake pedal also has a switch but this is needed for the stop lights so it's not conclusive. The clutch would not normally have a switch attached unless it was ready for cruise control. Mine had the clutch switch but no stalk. The hardest bit was cutting out the shroud around the stalk.

Sorry to pick your post out, but a clutch switch is fitted to hdis to prevent over revving when the clutch and brake are pressed together as a safety strategy, so no indicator at all, it just means that if all other things are in place you won't have to fit one extra Wink

Also beware that cruise can't be fitted to certain models of clocks, you have to enable cruise in engine management ecu, bsi and also clocks, this has prevented me from doing one in work just this week Sad a 60 plate 1.6hdi motor home b59... Just FYI Wink

Me too (Lookers Preston) I think its a rip off!!! Im trying to source a part on ebay but can find out which is the stalk i need. A local auto electrician has said to activate it would cost £75, which is still quite a lot IMO....

It looks like this and is used on most modern Citroen/Peugeot models - Mine was from a Peugeot 206 and was £15 off ebay

There are two different types, one with only Cruise Control, the other has Cruise Control and a Speed Limiter - both will work for Cruise Control, but if you want the Speed Limiter to work, you have to buy a new throttle peddle at about £100

Do we know which clocks won't work with cruise control? Tried to install cruise today on my 06 1.6hdi desire and it won't work, activated 2 settings on lexica but didn't see a 'clocks' setting?
Those in the know..... Go Berlingo!
