Alloy Wheels
#1
  • Hi Iam new to the forum so hello to you all. Iam also new to Citroen's so bare with me for any stupidity haha.
I've not so long ago purchased a 2001 Berlingo Multispace 1.4 as a second car for only £400 with a full years MOT, mainly to use whilst going Mountain Biking (fed up throwing muddy mountain bikes in my other car)

It's in great condition with 130 miles on the clock and after freeing of the gear linkage she drives great. I recently picked up a set of alloy wheels £90 (Bargain) to try and bring her up to date a little however this didn't go to plan.

Stud pattern fine, wheel diameter fine but wheel offset all wrong as the tyres rub against the inner arches on the back and the tyres are almost touching the front struts. I've tried selling them however I have no takers.

My only option now is to buy 20mm Hubcentric Wheel Spacers priced at £70. My question to you all is - Do any of you run 20mm wheel spacers Without issue?

Ive ran 20mm hubcentric spacers on a c2, c4 and c5 with no issues at all. Your aftermarket wheels are likely to be et 38 to 42 somewhere. The majority of citroens are around 20, so the 20mm spacers take them out to what they should do and the hubcentric spacers and appropriate spigot rings on the inside edge will work properly.

Thanks David, that's all I needed to hear. I kinda thought that going by my measurements but just wanted a second opinion.

Greatly appreciated.

Hubcentric spacers are the only proper way to space wheels out, I've seen kids use standard bolts with 10mm of spacers and roughly one thread in the hub! So yeah they will be fine Smile
