Front Calipers?
#1
Couple of questions regarding the front brakes on my 2001 - 1.4 - Petrol Multispace.

1 - are the front calipers the same on all models? i.e will the calipers from a diesel be same as petrol etc? (need to replace a seized caliper)

2 - I've noticed that my front discs are not vented, however all other models of Multispace I have come across at Scrapyards have all been fitted with Vented Discs. Can I upgrade to vented discs?

I've noticed a few threads stating that Green Stuff brake pads are also a good upgrade..

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Regards Davie .

Hi Davie, Best thing is to do a parts check on both types (petrol & Diesel) and see if they list them as the same part number. Our old 2002 had vented discs, again a parts number check should verify. Pop your reg no here

I think the diesel engine berlingo have bigger discs , petrol ones were non vented. (could be wrong ).

To change them needs a different hub, possibly new bottom suspension ball joints (some have different diameter fixing stubs) and maybe even different drive shaft joint/shaft., brake calliper carriers

Nope you don't need a new hub! You can swap and change all you like, 307 285mm discs and carriers/calipers are a good swap and not expensive, you can swap to vented 256mm discs with carriers and calipers but I'd just swap it to 285mm 307 if wheel size allows (15" steels should be fine)
