i say photo 1 but try it on there is only 1 way if you get it wrong then it wont touch the flywheel .

It should be marked flywheel side on the driven plate

Your right it it should be marked !! But now he's fully bled back from slave , can he back bleed from pedal ?
However he's saying fork has full travel and even with force on the fork !! It's not engaging , it's not lifting plate off ...

From chats I've had its seems it should be fitted like second picture

No 2 looks confusing to me with the centre spline sticking out .

Number two! 100%, the first way won't allow the clutch friction plate to sit on the flywheel, some can be fitted either way but the fit to the flywheel is what you need to check, not the pressure plate

The nose faces out so picture 2 is wrong. Your picture is confusing, the flat side goes to the flywheel and the nose points out to the thrust bearing side.
