Lucy LeB’ingo says enchantée
#1
Against my better judgement I was seduced into buying a sexy little one owner, low mileage, blue number with history. I did not really want a 1.6 Hdi because the Internet is full of horror stories about turbo failure and heavy carbon contamination, but Lucy, that is what she calls herself, had a tow bar, working A/C and was the Modutop Desire version. So I hope she does not bend me over and ass rape me now I have committed to her as my daily ride.

Hi Lucy and welcome. She'll be fine as long as the previous owner and you in the future keep her well lubricated with the proper spec oil and not too long an interval between oil/filter changes. I do mine every 9K km.
2010 Berlingo Multispace HDi 110 with FAP.  Persamos green.

Hi LucyLeBingo welcome to the forum just look after her as 3rensho says use the correct oil and shorten the service intervals and you will be fine.

Update on the slutty little French bitch. Money pit. 10 year full service of air, oil, diesel and cabin filters plus cam belt and water pump. Then both rear cylinders had to be replaced due to leaks. Then it needed a fooking clutch at less than 70k miles and one place was seriously trying to charge me just short of a grand to do it. Tried to fit cruise control, bitch was having none of it. Drivers window sometimes opens, sometimes does not. Plastic dip stick snapped off, had to have the sump removed to retrieve it, why to fook are they plastic? Fan stopped working on 1st and 2nd speed – heater resistor pack on order, now the fooking A/C compressor has decided it does not want to play anymore. Despite being the supposedly economical 1.6 Hdi I’ve never seen more than 48MPG from it. I’m reminded of what a mate said to me prior to buying it. “Buy French, pay twice”. I keep thinking I’m into this for so much now that surely there’s nothing else that can go wrong? Then the tramp finds some other way to empty my wallet. Next time I’m buying Japanese or Skoda.
