Passenger wing blank loom plug

hi all

Inside the passenger wing on my mk3 there is a loom with a plug which is plugged into a blank socket ...does anybody know what this is for ? Could it be for spotlights/DRLs?

I would guess fog lamps. Mine has wiring looms on both sides for them. Haven't gotten around to mounting them though.
