Failed MOT on various things, including airbag light staying on - again. Tested drivers airbag circuit using a variable resistor box, which simulates the airbag (which I had very carefully removed). The airbag light stayed off with resistances from 0.3 ohms to 3.9 ohms. I noticed while I was testing that the airbag ribbon cable was bent at a sharp angle about 7 notches down from the airbag connector. I reshaped the ribbon cable from the connector past the sharply bent section into a gradual bend, so there were no sharp angles, and carefully connected the airbag and replaced it on to the steering wheel. Airbag light now goes off every time I start up.
