Does anyone know any place that sells these nuts?
My poor little 1.4i recently blew its gasket(real messy. Hole as big as my pinkie between cylinder 1 and 2. Blew the radiator cap off and emptied the coolant 'pretty quickly').
I swapped the gasket, but when I tested the compression afterwards, I found that I had good compression on 1, less than half on 2 and 3, and 'so so' 3/4 on number 4.
The oil-test(squirt oil into the cylinder and try another compression test) showed that the piston rings were to blame.
(It has 240K Kilometers on the meter, so some wear is to be expected... )
I have new rings, I have tools, I have biting cold(open garage) and lots of pieces all over...
But what I don't have is new nuts for the big end of the conrods, and The Gospel of Haynes specify that they should be replaced whenever they're removed. (They're torqued to 40Nm, so yeah, it's probably a good idea to swap them out)
So, has anyone seen them online?

Hi, I take it you don't have the part number to search on?

Yes, but I really, really don't want to go there.
Not only don't I believe they'll sell me the nuts, but on the off chance that they do, they'll probably sell me the wrong nuts.
Everyone who works in the company that handles parts and repairs are bloody useless!

Personally I would use the old nuts.
The nut comes with the bolt from Citroen, you can't buy just the nuts

It seems to be difficult enough to find a complete Bolt&nut set, also, so I guess I'll have to reuse the old nuts.
I really don't like it as they need to be torqued up pretty hard.
Incidentally, I begin to understand why this job isn't listed as an 'in car' job...
The Effing oil pump makes it difficult to reach the nuts on piston 4.
(Yeah, I'm doing it in-car)

I rebuilt a 1.4i a few years back and used the old nuts with no problems, the car was still going strong 6 years later, it may still be going, so I wouldn't worry about it.
I remember dropping the oil pump to get to the big end on # 4 .

Yeah, but on some 1.4i's you can't drop the pump without disassembling everything.
Going to be a pain to do that one.
(Ive partially disassembled the pump, though, so I expect to be able to work around it.)

The one I done was a 1.4i (TU3JP) and I seem to remember the oil pump being easy to remove, but maybe I just moved loosened it and moved it a little.
If you're pulling the liners you will need new liner seals which I recall being about £5 each for a thin rubber band that looked like an elastic band.
