#1
Hi question to 1.6 blue hdi owners
Do you hear during ride (acceleration or decceleration) any engine sounds ..not asking about some "booo" sound but clicking ,ticking etc ...rather high freq...

During idle all look ok ... just simple diesel sound but during ride some isolated sounds get my ear and make me nervous ...
Share your exprience ..thx

Its not rattle ..its rather ticking let say like swiss watch movement;-)and only when rpm like for instance 5 gear and 2000 rpm and slight acceleration /deceleration .when i press hard throttle pedal sudden rpm rise and turbo activation covers those ticking

There's nothing in there that would worry me, it just sounds like a diesel. Have you been driving petrol cars previously ? Some noises have different frequencies that people pick up on, I can't hear high frequencies any more being an old bloke but running at low revs I hear rumbling noises. If they start to annoy me I change down a gear as I find the car geared more for 3rd gear at 30mph than labouring in 4th at the same speed.
So where does this bit go then ?

the diesel injectors are the main cause for the ticking sounds we hear in modern diesel cars...they can be really loud, and sound like you described them, like a watch mechanism at work...really funny is a situation where you can go coasting downhill and have a wall in one of your sides, and with the window open on the side of the wall, so it reflects the engine noise back to you, you can actually hear them stop working, and the motor becoming silent...

it looks that I found main source of that sound which make me crazy

citroen service based on above video informed me "that type has like that" this is euro 6 and this buzzing is caused by some turbo valve (reduce pressure when it is not required )

my concern is buzzing sound in above video ...
