BSI physical removal - 2003 Berlingo

Another 'simple' question.
Is there a special knack to removing the BSI (2003 Berlingo Multispace 1.9D)?

Can the BSI be extracted and the connectors then released, or does one have to release the connectors 'as you go'?
I have been trying to remove the BSI, but the cables seem to prevent this !
I'm wary of damaging the cables, as some of them appear rather 'thin'.
Are all the cables in that area connected to the BSI or, as seems to be the case, do some of them disappear into the nether regions under the dash?

Its a bit fiddly and there's not much room, but basically once you've lowered the unit just take the first ones off and it'll slide out a bit more so you can (sort of) get to the rest.
