[Engine] Diesel fan in Petrol engine?

Hi there,

I have a 2003, Berlingo Multispace and the radiator fan doesn't work. I bought a new one to have fitted but the mechanic who was working on it said that it actually has a fan for a diesel and not a petrol - which meant that the fan I bought didn't fit. I now have no idea which fan I need to get.

I have no idea about cars at all and was wondering if this is something that anyone has had experience with?

Did you give your reg when ordering the fan?,if so they should have gave you the correct one,if not take it back,and explain to them,
