Hi Guys
I have a 2003 citroen berlingo multispace.
Every time I pull away, something under the back of car goes TWANG !!!!
it keeps doing this every time the car takes up the drive but wont do it if you rock the car or bounce up and down so near impossible to find when stationary.
The car sounds like a clown car crossed with an old bead stead ::::::: not cool.
Any ideas what it could be ?????

My first thoughts were possibly a snapped anti roll bar or torsion bar on the axle, but you would expect the noise to be present when you bounce the suspension.

Torsion bar holds the back up, if one breaks the car leans to one side, if both break you are flat down on the suspension. Most likely your brake portioning valve spring as mentioned above.
So where does this bit go then ?

I appreciate what you say but I've seen a snapped anti roll bar on one of these axles and the driver didn't realise, that was making a banging noise not a Twang though.
You can't rule anything out until you find the cause of the noise.

As second poster said, brake load sensing valve I reckon! Or wobble exhaust to see if its loose?
