ecp delivery charges ........or not
#1
Whilst hunting for strut mounting bearing for my berlingo, I tried ECP and having found the parts and as it said at the top Free Delivery I thought they will do .

Put in all the details , going well until the final page then there is no option but a carriers charge of £4.95, the  Free Delivery option had vanished ! Angry
Its a GB mainland postcode not an Island or Highland one where I would expect a surcharge nor are they bulky/heavy parts.

Is this a con from ECP ?    .Its cheaper to get the parts sent to the continent from  £3.95.

I got them from ebays at slightly less with free delivery .

Anyone else found the free delivery option vanishing when it comes to actually paying ?  Exclamation

None of the " * " conditions apply , I just wanted free delivery whether 2,4, 7 days delivery, and there are no other options given.
I did find on ebay the same item from ECP at the same price plus delivery cost with " free" delivery.

As you suggest the free delivery could mean to a branch of theirs ,but the nearest branch is about 50/60 miles from me.

I think the key is the distance to your local branch, they don't say it but I think the free delivery is only if you are on the route of the local branch van trade delivery round. I presume once you enter your postcode they realise this and remove the free delivery option.
I noticed they have started advertising on tv this weekend, as far as I know this is a new move, maybe they will let up on the emails now !

The free delivery is quite prominent on their website and its only when you get to the paying part it disappears. (at least for me)
It is misleading even if they do only free delivery in the way Satelitemark thinks .

I stopped using them as i noticed a significant rise in prices - started using Andrew Page but thats buggered now as ECP as bought them out!
