As regulars on here will know, I am after an M59 2.0Ltr HDi Berlingo, must be the "Desire" model with the "Modutop".
I am looking to pay between £1200 and £1900, year not so important as condition, with a FSH being pretty important.
Now, obviously I have been looking in the usual places for a month or more, Here, Ebay, Autotrader, Gumtree and the local papers. So far, other than very dodgy dealer offerings, I haven't found one that ticks all the boxes. I even went to the 2 x local main dealers asking if they ever got such cars in as "trade ins". Even though I was quite smartly dressed, they were quite snotty with me when I mentioned my price bracket
So, does anyone know of any other outlets were I might find my hearts desire ? (did you see what I did there)
EDIT = Just remembered "Pre-Loved" = looking on there now.......
Regards to all,
John - (2005 2.0HDi with Modutop roof, mini camper).

Give Citroen Birmingham a call and ask for Brian or John - Brian does vans and John is second hand cars - both will be willing to let you know what comes in as part ex but you may have to be patent.

Have you looked at Peugeot's version, the Escapade or Quicksilver ? My niece bought one and has been very happy with it for caravan towing and van duties. It's identical to the Berlingo apart from the badges and front bumper. You'll be lucky to find one with full service history, they are getting on now. trader link
So where does this bit go then ?

Nothing jumped out at me there.

Thanks Polar for that. I will give them a ring

Am I being silly avoiding the 1.6HDi (DV6) versions because of their turbo eating problems?
I understand it's due to oil feed issues caused by poor / incorrect servicing, but if such a car has say, 125,000 on the clock, but has a full dealer service history, might it be a safe buy? (or stick to the 2.0Ltr?)........................(or even a 1.9?)

Ah, yes, thanks, it seems to be the Quicksilver version that has the Modutop.
I just spent 30 mins on ebay and autotrader. There are a few ones that look OK, but they mostly seem to be way down south (I am in S.W. Cheshire), I am very unlikely to buy a car "unseen".
Hey Polar, Cheers for the reassurance re the DV (1.6 HDi) motors. It will broaden my choices, but I will stick to looking a FSH jobbies.

Ironically I've been looking for a cheap MK1 Rav4 as a project & they all seem to be in the Midlands or even further away .
Do you find ebay's "best match" gets your hopes up just to dash them ?
Ebay's best match seems to be getting more ridiculous by the day , the other day the first car in the "best match" list was in Northern Ireland ,given the fact Ebay knew my postcode (I'm in Essex near Southend on Sea) , how a car in N.Ireland could ever be the best match mystifies me .

I've just bought a 2006 1.6 HDi, full service history with 85K on it. Drives like a much younger car with no issues whatsoever, pulls well in 2nd gear. I wouldn't rule it out, it's a good engine :-)

You don't have to buy unseen, take a day out to go and look at a car and take your card to a cash point. I'm in Derbyshire and I'd go out to look if I thought something was worth it. My niece went on the train with her Springer spaniel from here to Essex and drove her Peugeot back. She's had it 3 years now and it's been a good car.
So where does this bit go then ?
