[Engine] hdi engine confused
#1
hi all

my engine has let go in my 2009 berlingo 1.6hdi ,,so i am trying to source a engine but getting a bit confused as to what engine i have in there, cannot find the engine code on the block, there is a white label down the pulley end which says DV6ATED4   and on the citroen service site it says mine is  DV6BTED4    and my vin is VF7GB9HWC   so i think im looking for a 9HW engine but im not so sure hopefully someone here knows as there is so many engines with different codes and dont want to get the wrong engine
thanks all

You can send me complete VIN number by PM and I can check
your engine number that was factory fitted.

Maybe there was already differend engine in you car  Rolleyes

Oil sump clogged. Oil not getting to top of the engine.
Oil pump not working.

I had similar case long time ago on vw 1.6 D.

You can take valve cover off and see if there is NO oil there.

Just a thought, did it have an oil filter change recently? Maybe the filter was inserted incorrectly.

Or maybe oil and filter not changed in a long time, I'm not trying to be controversial, just trying to understand the failure to help others.
