[Brakes] Front left brake binding on
#1
Been having a problem with front brake binding on,  this only happens when I am on a run and van is well warmed up. When binding on the pedal is very hard, a few pumps and everything goes back to normal.
I traveled about 15 miles up the motorway the other day and I could feel it slowing me down and when I pulled over I had smoke coming from the front left wheel.
Gave it a few pumps and all fine again.
So I had the wheel off and noticed the discs were not great so fitted new discs, pads and a new flexy hose as I was told these could be problem breaking down inside.
Everything has been fine this last week just using the van around town but took it on a run up the motorway again today and it started binding again, could smell burning brake pads and holding me back.

Would anyone know a simple fix for this please as fed up with spending money on the thing now.

Its a 2007 enterprise van.

Cheers

I was going to say flexi hose but you've done that.

I'm guessing that as you have had it to bits to fit new discs etc., that the obvious was checked over, like...

Is the calliper moving nice and free on it's sliders?

Is the calliper piston nice & free?  pump it out and push it back a few times.

Are the brake pads free to move and not too tight on their mounts?

1.6 HDI engine right ? ( gained from reading your earlier posts)

Have you had any brake related work done on the van prior to this fault...Master cylinder, servo etc?

Has it got ABS?

Did you clean the hub up prior to fitting the new disc? any rust on there where the new disc is sitting?

Wheel bearing, is the left side wheel bearing knackered?...
Rest fingers on the the suspension spring when rotating the wheel...compare to the right side...is the vibration the same?

Are you sure the calliper is ok?....have you actually checked it or are you assuming?
