Prospective EGS buyer told that you can still use paddles to go up and down gears even when in AUTO mode, any comments on that? Says he read it somewhere but I am sure its not right and that you have to change from AUTO to MANUAL first to allow that.

Yes you can use the paddles in Auto I do regular, the manual says if you have not oprated the paddles within 2 secs it reverts back to normal Auto (if you are in Auto that is ) I over ride the Auto mode regular with the paddles, its the Devil in me lol, most in areas at 40 mph it stays in 4-5 I want 6 Better mpg, if it needs to it will gear down as it always does..
