Berlingo 2013 conversion.
#1
Hey folks,

So i'm looking to convert the back of my Berlingo and thought this seemed like a solid place to pick a few brains before really getting stuck in.

I'll upload photos when it's not 3am but so far i've insulated the main areas with closed cell foam(+shiny stuff) stuck to the van metal and covered all that with plywood treated with fence life. The plywood has cupboards cut into it so i can keep odd stuff in there (high vizzy, first aid kit etc)

There's insulation on the ceiling also but i've not covered that yet as i'm trying to work a way to hang a surfboard from the ceiling.

So here's my to do list, if anybody has any ideas for how to accomplish these things / ideas they've seen then please comment on here.
I've been trawling through the forums already but figured this would be a good way for any extra nuggets of info.

1) A unit which can be removed which has a bed on top that can be either a single or small double bed frame and a slide out gas hob at the end (amdro style).

I'm thinking a bedframe with interlinked slats could work well here rather than a fold out?

2) To be able to fit a Kayak down the left hand side of the van (passenger seat that folds directly down) even when the bed is opened up into small double.

3) To be able to hang a shortie surfboard from the ceiling.

Netting? Unsure if i'd prefer something more solid / stable so the board doesn't bounce about in transit.

4) Leisure battery which charges as I drive.

Has anyone got a surefire way for this to work as it seems a bit tricky to get a good result.

5) A better light system in the wall / ceiling.

Tempted to go to an auto electrician depending on how tricky this is to find a step by step guide on here/youtube

6) An awning which works with my barndoors and is easily packed away in one of the plywood cupboards.

Packashack seems to be my favourite so far but it does just seem like a tarp with an elasticated edge and guy lines?

Yep, i'm going at this with a whole load of ignorance but i've plenty of time over the winter before next freelance season starts up Smile

Thanks for your time,

Tom
