Sliding door trim
#1
Can anybody explain in a step by step way how I remove the door trim on my 2010 B9 Multispace? I have what sounds like a loose nut inside and would like to remove it. Thanks

Is the lack of response because it's too complicated or some other reason?

That will be most appreciated. I have ordered the Haynes manual but will have to wait until mid January for that.

On my 06 multispace desire, you undo two screws under the window, ease the plastice studs out around the edge of the panel and lift off.

I've had the trim off of both front doors. The rear door is very different. I've looked for hidden screws etc. but the panel is still very tight. Maybe a little bit of leverage somewhere but I would sooner wait and hear from somebody that has done it.

As promissed:

Sorry but it is the best resolution I can have of the image...

From looking at the drawing (there are no instructions on how to disassemble this part in the program I have):

- first you remove part number 6 by pulling (there should be 3 rubber/plastic retainers, nr 70, that can and most probably will break, so you should buy a bag of them for replacing the broken ones, before you do this).

- Then you have to undo 3 torx screws (nrs 71 in the picture), and again pull from the bottom front side of the trim, where you have again a nr 70 retainer. be carefull on this part, because there is some hidden retainer (nr72), that I don't know what it does - I think you should now slide the trim towards the front end of the car to get it out, but I am not sure.

The replacement nr 70 retainers you can get them on ebay, part number 9341PF (see here http://www.berlingoforum.co.uk/thread-14232.html , they are the same as for the front doors trim).

That's brilliant, thank you. I have ordered the nr70 retainers and will take a look to check my trim is the same. It certainly looks like it. I will try and take the trim off next week end, its supposed to be pouring with rain all day tomorrow!!

You are welcome.

When you remove parts with the nr 70 retainers, the retainers can break (as they did when I disassembled the front door), and if they do, the tips of plastic will go inside the metal folds of the door (maybe this is what you have already going around making the noise you hear)...I don't know if these rear doors have the weather-proofing styrofoam cover, but if they are anything like the front ones, they will, and then you will also have to remove it very carefully (this cover is held with a sort of soft silicon paste that you can glue back in place)in order to get to the broken plastic tips...

Cheers

Well I had a go but gave up, I was worried about damaging trim trying to lever it off. There are actually 3 torx head screws under the inner handle cover but the trim is very tight!!!
