I'll post up if this fella confirms them to be 13.
Good link that.
Xmas25 at ecp gets 25% off an ina belt and tensioner kit and the premium water pump for about 85 quid haven't found a better price for decent stuff. Can get no name OEM stuff for 60 quid. Having had waterpump fail in the past I'm not overly keen on that either
My last belt was 40k ago . This one will probably be it's last ever doesn't seem worth doing all this work and not hanging it

I've been watching this thread with some interest. I don't have a 1.9d I do have a 1995 2 cyl ducati which uses shims and tends to stretch the valves. Due to the daft prices on Ducati spares, it's common practice to take a couple of thou off by rubbing them in a circular motion & rotating the grip on them regularly on a flat surface with fine emery. They are also case hardened, but so long as you're only talking small amounts it's normally ok. I took about .02 mm off mine this year without problems.
It all depends on what the clearances should be vs what they are now. If your clearances are zero now, there may still be a bit of movement when you take the camshaft out, if so it may be worth putting a smaller shim in place to be sure of the gap. Your shims should be slightly different sizes an so you may find one that you can use to measure other gaps.
If the Kawa source is no good, these people may be of help:
Boom found a loaner set of shims to borrow for the week.
Will have fun early next week
Time to get my timing belt ordered up .
The guy at the garage said he used to do loads of shimming of these-15 years ago. And to get a camshaft seal while I'm in there.

Aye will be monday/Tuesday next week. Cambelts on the way. Dayco from ecp kwp water pump and a pair of camshaft seals. For 90quid all in. Local dingbro wouldn't tell me what brand was on their waterpumps -which was a warning sign to me. Been cautious ever since i (well the wife drove it but i fitted it so that makes it my fault)cooked a golf with a failed cheap pump.
Shims should be here tomorrow
Worst part of the job is having to drive the wife in and out of the city morning and night no way she is taking the ninety into that part of town . I'd give it 20minutes before her pupils were taking it for a joyride !
Treated my self to a new feeler gauge to replace my Christmas cracker one. Nice offset dual marked sealey one , a 0.01mm micrometer and a set of timing pins as I never liked using drill bits

It's very high, 180,000
for a 1.9D thats not even properley run in. mine has 85,000 and is tight like a new engine, i have seen them in Spain with 400,000km on em still running sweet.
Get on it Monday or Tuesday depending on the wife's schedule.
