Hi all, just bought a 2005 Multispace Desire 2.0 HDI. it drives really well I am 3rd owner full history 71k and from reading the forum i will need to do cambelt soon and maybe the clutch cable as it's a bit heavy. No doubt be asking some silly question's soon and looking for advice. Going to have a look on Sunday about the car and see what needs attention (apart from bodywork). Picked it up from Brockenhurst and drove back to Stockport fine. 260 miles, just noticed clutch a bit heavy but gets gears OK bite low down. Loads of space very practical my mate loves his and my kids think it's Ugly!!! Wait until they need a lift and it's raining it has character I think

Hi Silverberlingo, I too recently bought the same thing = 2005 silver 2.0 HDi
Mine is fine too, though I also have a slightly heavier than expected clutch, which bites fairly low down. Mines not a problem at the moment, so I will wait and see if it needs attention sometime ahead.
Mine had it's belt done at 77K but has done another 60K+ since then, I used that as a (legitimate) bargaining tool on the seller, and got it done within a week of buying it (3 weeks ago). Did a full engine service at the same time.
If you are like me, you will love the space and the mpg.
What's your "Modutop" roof like? are the door hinges broken? Does it rattle at all?
Regards to all,
John - (2005 2.0HDi with Modutop roof, mini camper).

Just realised I put desire and it's a Forte doh!!!! No modutop unfortunately ??? been to and from work in it today and dropped the daughter off who wouldn't get in it for work. I love the drive and practical side of it. Just been through all the bills and service history and it's been looked after by the look of it. I will sort the clutch cable out as it's bite is really low and clutch stiff. But try wd40 on pedal first

WD40 is only short term fix it will dry out long term you need to work some silicone grease into it very long lasting .

Won't that make your foot slip off ?
Clutch is a bit heavy on ours but you get used to it and the timing belt should be done at 10 years if the mileage has not been reached according to manuals.
So where does this bit go then ?
