Washers not working

Hi there on my 2010 Berlingo 1.6 HDI the washer motor has stopped operating. When I pull back on the stalk there was no noise from the motor so I removed the wheel, arch liner and tested the connector which has no voltage when I pull the lever. I then applied 12v to the pump terminals and it operated so I know the pump is ok.
I then turned to the F14 fuse under the glove box but that also appears to be ok. I looked under the hood at the engine bay fuse box but there is no F14 or socket so I'm guessing its not that one. All other electrics are operating ok so I'm stuck on this one. Is there a relay or could there be another connector that has come dislodged, recently had a lot of work done like oil pump and cam belt...could the garage have moved a cable?

Those fuses can be blown and look okay - have you changed it to be sure?

Hi, just tried changing it and buzzed out the old fuse but it was ok so cant be that

I've had the same problem intermittantly on both the B9 L2s I've owned. One minute the washers won't work, then later after stopping and starting, they suddenly decide to work again! It must be some glitch in the onboard computer, rather than fuses or pumps! Try disconnecting the battery for a while, and see if this resets anything.

Hi, I have disconnected the battery twice, leaving 5 mins before connecting but the pump still wont operate. Is there a replay I should be looking for?

follow the cable from the water pump upwards. maybe during the last garage stay, a cable got snapped or smashed...if it was not happening before, then the reason has to be associated with the stay in the workshop...

I just traced the cable from the pump all the way to behind the battery but can see nothing obvious. The wires are in plastic copex so are protected or at least they look fine. There is another connector in the other side of the washer tank... Could it be something to do with that... Is it a sensor? Thanks again

Has anyone else got any suggestions? I've tried the fuse, tested volts on the pump connector (nothing), applied voltage to the pump and it works, traced the cables for damage but they're ok. The wipers operate when I pull the leaver towards me so i'm guessing the switch works? I'm stumped! Thanks, Joe

remove the pump from the tank and check if the electrical socket has a bad contact with the pump or something similar. The wires can be broken inside the plug. Or maybe also consider the circuit can plugged (I have had this with fungus once, had to change pipes and all...). If the wipers activate with the stalk, then I would assume the electrics inside the car are ok, but I am not sure.

I had my washers fail to work for a short time again this week. After stopping to load my van, I found that they were working again!
