[Engine] Head gasket kit quality
#11
Perhaps a bit of mix and match? The bolts seem expensive, but the gasket is not too far from what's on ebay UK for 'quality' parts. I had a quick look at the possibility of re-using the bolts, it seems the general advice online is to fit new but some say you can take a chance if they're under a certain length. Apparently the gaskets also come in a variety of thicknesses, apologies if that's an obvious to those experienced in such things but thought I'd mention it.

Page 2 of the thread and no mention at all of what engine type it is....other than in the ebay head gasket link.  Rolleyes

Assuming it's a 1.9D...

I just had a look on the CP4L site, they apparently ship world wide and with the 'Spring10' code came up with what looked to be a good price for an Erling HG, perhaps they have the other parts to make up a kit. They can be contacted online via webchat too.

That's my exact point, we're having to guess!

You're right of course & it would be nice to be sure. But I remembered from some earlier posts on another thread that it's probably a 1.9d that Civvic has.

"I have this problem of oil consumption with my 1.9d wjy engine while compression looks fine. Any chance the engine comes with the PCV valve and has failed too? "

Anyway, must get back to the water leak I just caused in my kitchen Dodgy

Sorry I had a busy day so I missed the above posts. I am a "he", and the van in question is a Peugeot Partner 2003 with the 1.9d wjy engine. It has a serious drinking problem - I have to top up a litre every 3days of heavy use and every 400 kilometres or so. The van is approaching 250k km's. Thanks for your responses/inquiries.

I appreciate you're helpfulnesses Wink   but you had to play Detective Columbo to find that out!

If the members were to put their vehicle details in their signature (Like the more educated of us) Angel  Big Grin  we wouldn't have this problem and you could hang up your raincoat !
