Loud beeping from radio unit
#1
I had a problem today with the touch screen radio unit, when I turned on the engine a loud constant beeping was coming from the radio unit. The stupid thing is that I was unable to turn down the volume nor stop the beeping. The car is almost six months old and luckily I live quite close to the main dealer who took the car in and gave it a computer based reboot of some kind which sorted out the problem.
Had this of occurred on a long night drive or away from a dealer or whatever it would be a major issue and seems to me that this is a poor design by Citroen to fit a radio unit without an on /off switch of some kind.
Anyone else had this problem?

Hi Tony, I have a 2016 Berlingo with the touch screen and had the same problem after I had the doors and tailgate open for some time. Its quite loud and it wouldnt go away. My local dealer could not advise and it got booked in to check in 10 days ! I wasnt looking forward to 10 days of loud beeping.
The next morning on start up all was fine and that was 6 weeks back.

Can only imagine it was some deep eco mode indication like when the battery light flashes as the interior lights had been on and off quite a bit.

Nick.

Just so you know - you can manually reboot the touchscreen by pressing the menu button on the top until it makes a beep.

Hopefully, this would clear any faults as its a soft reset

Thanks for that info Tree, I will be taking it into Citroen in a few thousand miles time to see if theres an update in the software to cure the random Tyre Pressure indicator error I get if auto door locking is disabled. The touch screen has reset on its own to default settings a couple of times..

Thanks for that Tree, will remember that very useful tip.

I bought my new Berlingo Enterprise van in March 2016.
Two months into ownership, the loud beeping occured one morning on start-up.
I drove to the Citroen dealer, with the beeping still heard.
The mechanic turned off the van, disconnected the quick release positive terminal of the battery, re-connected , started the van. Beeping gone.
The date and time on the radio needed re-setting after this procedure.

However it's occured a further 2 times in a 9 month period. Quick disconnect of the battery, followed by re-connection cures the fault.

I will be bringing up this observation once the first service is due in 2 months time.

Regards

Rob
