temperatue dial

I have 1.6 16v petrol berlingo ,can someone tell me what the reading on the dial should be?
I was warming the car up today after about 20min the dial rose to just below 100 degrees then the fan kicked in and it dropped to just above 90 degrees ,then slowly started to rise and again the fan kicked in and the reading was around 95.

had me worried ,as I have just got the car last week,i haven't insured it yet ,and have been warming it up on my drive daily for about 15 mins,was getting reading below 90 degrees ,put it down to cold weather.
Then today readings and needle went higher got worried.
