Rear window heater repair
#1
Hi all, anyone used a rear window heater matrix repair kit at all? The middle works fine about 5 lines deep but during early morning starts it's a bit of a pain not having a full view out of the rear. Seen Halford's one that sell and the reviews aren't that good so thought I'd ask.  Idea Big Grin

Didn't know you could get such a thing , used to use a bottle of conductive paint which was a bit of a hit or miss, Undecided

I think in essence it's the same thing to be honest. Just want to try and see if anyone has used one that they can recommend.

I used this on old Golf and it worked great: "Loctite 3863 circut +"

Clean glass with paper towel and petrol. You have to degrease glass.
Leave to dry, 5 min . Apply loctite. Leave to dry 20 min. Apply loctite again. You have to apply several coats.

OK thank you will have a look. Not off work until Sunday so will have to wait until then at the earliest. I don't think this frost would assist in drying at the moment

Make sure t use very fine wet n dry 1200 grit to clean the track ends then put masking tape over and cut through with a razor leaving a 1 or 2 mm wide track. Paint the stuff on. Peel. Let dry. Test.

Will do have you done it before yourself and if so was it successful? And what product did you use ?

A few times. And believe it or not. Brush on aluminium paint. Works fine

Yes I've done it before and plain brush in aluminium paint works ok. To see whether or not it will work just take a multimeter set it on ohms and put both ends of the probes into the pot of paint you can of course wipe the paint off the steel ends afterwards
